Details

Ishwardi Airport is about 5 km west of the upazila headquarters. After acquisition of 436.65 acres of land in the name of Bangladesh Private Aerospace Authority, after the construction work of the establishment, the flight of Bangladesh Biman was first launched at Ishwardi Airport on 26/03/1961. After a long time the airport was closed for the first time on 05/04/1990. On 17/07/1994, the airport was reopened. But on 03/11/1996, the Bangladesh Biman Flight was stopped again. After that on 10/05/1998, air-fighter flights were launched from this airport.


After a few days on 28/06/1998 AD the fight was also closed. Till now, all kinds of flights are closed in the airport. Although there are no scheduled flights, the airport is officially operational. Communication machinery activities. There are 15 manpower in the airship, but the control tower / fire has no manpower. Airport runway, Approach, Taxo, everything is in the workplace. Of the 436.65 acre land, 290.74 acres are given to the Military Farm adjacent to the airport. There are 145.91 acres of land under the airport. But the actual pay is now in the possession of the airport only 96.00 acre of land. The rest of the land is under the control of the military farm. Goddess of the petition urges the government of Bangladesh to resume this airport near the civil aviation authorities.
